The great news is from Monday 7 February 2022 our school will welcome back all students and staff for the start of the school year for everyone. Whilst this is welcome news, we will need to adhere to some additional measures to minimise transmission of COVID-19 and further protect the health and safety of our school community.
In line with the current operating guidelines from Queensland Government to limit onsite visitors, we have outlined procedures for drop off and pick up below. Essentially, there will be staggered times and limited adult access to the school grounds.
N.B. 2022 PREP PARENTS – more information to follow to outline Monday 7 Feb - Friday 11 Feb Prep Drop off/Pick Up routines. From 14 February, Prep students will fall in line with the rest of the school routines, detailed below.
Drop Off and Pick Up Routines (7 Feb – 4 March)
We are encouraging as many parents as possible to utilise our drop off/pick up routines to minimise the number of people on site for the next few weeks. All parents to drop off and pick up their children at either the hill or the front gate and not to enter the school grounds unless your child is experiencing vulnerability and/or is a Prep student.
I realise that having parents and carers on our school site is part of our regular school routine and this restriction will be challenging. However, these restrictions are necessary so our staff and students can return to their classrooms from Monday in the safest way possible.
Our staff will be rostered on to greet and/or supervise at each of these locations before and after school. If possible, we also request that parents remain in their cars at the pick up and go locations rather than park and walk to the gates.
Drop Off
Upper- and Middle-Year Students (Family A, B, C, D, E, G and H)
8am-8.40am Parents to drop off students at one of the locations. Upper and Middle school students will either make their way to covered area or wait with supervising staff. (Under Cover Area supervision between 8am-8.30am)
Prep and Year 1 (Family I, J and K).
If possible, please delay dropping off Prep/Year 1 students until between 8.30am and 9am. Class teachers will greet students at each gate during this time. N.B. If you have children in both groups please choose the time that is most convenient for your family.
Any late arrivals are asked to come through the Admin Office to sign in.
