NAIDOC week at Chevallum State School was celebrated on Thursday 22 July during a full school parade. It was a wonderful morning of cultural discovery and diversity. I would like to congratulate our audience for their respectful listening and attention to our parade items.
As part of the NADIDOC parade program Family G presented their individual heart-felt citizen promises to ensure a future commitment to First Nation peoples and our country.
I would like to thank Miss Dani, our indigenous students and student Ambassadors for organising and leading this special Parade. Another thank you to Miss Katie who organised and collated the student artwork displayed in the hall for the special event.
It is very important that our students celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
