Family J, K, I – Maleny Dairy and Township Excursion 
On 25 and 26 February each Prep/Year 1 Family Group ventured into Maleny Township and dairy to enhance their current Thinking Play unit about food. The students walked through the town of Maleny to view the products in the local shops and markets.
Students had the opportunity to:-
- develop their knowledge of places in our local community and the purpose/s and function/s they fulfil
- explore the question of how food moves from paddock to plate
- discuss the importance of eating healthy food
Family A – Water Walk
This week, Ross Fisher, visited Family A to take a small group of students on a 'water walk'. Families ABGH are investigating water as a resource, where our water comes from and how it is used at Chevallum. Ross was able to share lots of information with the students and provide a history of the changes to water storage and water use. This 'water walk' was filmed and shared with the other family groups as a part of Science learning. A big thank you to Ross for his invaluable knowledge and for sharing his time with us.
