UPPER SCHOOL CULMINATING ACTIVITIES TERM 2
The end of term sees our Family Groups present the culmination of their learning, in artwork, displays showing the concepts, themes and content learnt during the Term.
These presentations are always a delight to visit and showcase the hands on learning approach of Chevallum and the value we place on sharing and demonstrating knowledge. The artworks, in the form of self portraits in mixed media were very impressive.
The theme of One Continent, Many Voices, explored Indigenous history, impact of colonization, migration, relationships and identity.
Attendance by family and friends was very high and the students took great pride in showing their families their work. Our school is very grateful for the support of our families. Congratulations to all students and teachers for their hard work and dedication to learning and sharing.
Reconciliation Action Plan Display
Also happening on the culmination day was a display put together by Miss Dani explaining the Chevallum Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). The display included copies of our RAP for people to take away and read and also a board where people could post their personal commitment to reconciliation.
A Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is a formal commitment to reconciliation.
Our vision for reconciliation is a united community, working in partnership towards a compassionate future. We acknowledge and respect the richness and diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures, committing to being compassionate action takers.
