EXTRA CURRICULA UPDATE
Leadership Camp All of our Year 6 students attended a 2 day, 1 night Leadership Camp at Alexandra Park Conference Centre, Alexandra Headlands. All students had the opportunity to improve their leadership development levels whilst having fun along the way. Students learnt many things, including the need to be a valuable team member by being able to communicate well, to be an active listener and to have a positive attitude. Students also learnt about personal and group leadership, how to be inclusive and have flexibility in group situations. Most importantly, the students learnt that trust takes a lifetime to build and a second to break. By developing trust through honesty and integrity, they are the ones that benefit.
World of Maths Incursion
As part of our Maths programme, World of Maths visited Chevallum State School.
World of Maths is a unique traveling maths show that provides fun, colourful, hands-on, mathematical, problem solving activities for student participation.
Our school has received wonderful feedback from the World of Maths coordinator about the respectful, collaborative and creative way in which our students worked through the problem solving stations in their Family Group sessions.
