Wheelie Bin Worms? What's That All About?

This year we received a grant from the Department of Environment and Science of $2500, as part of the Organic Waste Smart Schools Program.

The Environmental Leaders have now implemented the 'Chevallum Organic Waste Recovery and Reboot Project’ which aims to complement our thriving garden and kitchen program. We are extremely driven as a whole school community to promote productive organic waste management and to reduce, reuse and recycle more efficiently.

Our goal is to:
Educate all students with clear signage around the school, with clear and consistent information regarding waste management.
Provide accessible compost bins throughout the school.
Implement ‘Wheelie-bin worm farms’ at central locations around the school, so all students are involved in and accountable for optimal organic waste management.
