Dear Chevallum Community,
Over the past two weeks, our hallways, classrooms and the Chevallum Hall have been absolutely alive with creativity, courage and joy. I could not be more proud of our students and staff for the incredible culminating events they have brought to life.
From heartfelt singing and energetic dancing, to cleverly designed games, imaginative stories and performances that lit up the room—every class has showcased learning in the most meaningful and memorable ways. These moments don’t just happen; they are the result of weeks of preparation, teamwork, dedication and a deep love of learning.
To our teachers and teacher aides—thank you for guiding our students with passion and purpose whilst balancing the rigours of report cards. To our students—thank you for your bravery, your imagination and the pride you take in sharing your learning with our community. And to our families—thank you for celebrating these milestones alongside us.
Chevallum is a special place, and the last fortnight has been a powerful reminder of the magic that happens when a whole school leans into creativity, connection and excellence.
I am incredibly proud of every single class. What a wonderful way to finish the year.

Farewell to Our Wonderful Music Teacher, Mrs Wendy Russell
Today on parade, we say a very heartfelt farewell to our amazing Music Teacher, Mrs Wendy Russell. Wendy has been an extraordinary part of the Chevallum community, touching the lives of countless students through her passion, patience and genuine love of music.
Wendy has a unique gift—not only has she inspired confidence, creativity and joy in every young musician who has entered her classroom, but she has also achieved what many thought impossible… she somehow made recorders sound magical. That alone should earn her legendary status!
From whole-school performances to quiet moments of encouragement, Wendy has shaped memories that our students and staff will carry for years to come. Her ability to bring out the best in children through rhythm, melody and laughter is truly something special.
Wendy, thank you for your dedication, your warmth and the musical magic you have sprinkled throughout Chevallum. We will miss your energy, your passion and the way you turn even the simplest tune into a celebration.
