Welcome to Chevallum State School on behalf of the Parents and Citizens Association and the families of the Chevallum community. Our P&C Association is committed to ensuring all our endeavours support the values and mission of the school, therefore benefiting the educational experience of each and every student at Chevallum. Involvement in the P&C also provides a lasting positive example to children on the value and fulfilment of volunteering within your community.
Our parents take pride in the distinctive learning environment of Chevallum and our Parent’s and Citizens Association looks forward to welcoming you and making you feel at home in our school community.
We are fortunate to have a highly motivated, active and skilled P &C dedicated to working in support our school community and students. P&Cs provide an opportunity for the school community to become actively involved in the operations, development and improvement of their school. The positive influence of parent involvement in education is well documented and cannot be underestimated. We encourage you to extend your involvement through joining the P&C, helping in the classroom, volunteering in the Café or Uniform Shop, assisting in the Kitchen Garden and participating in Strawbfest, our annual fundraiser.
Major Activities in 2021
2021 was a year to remember for our Chevallum P&C Association. Together we navigated through many road blocks and challenges to achieve great success as a community. These great achievements would not have been possible without the help and support of our community! Thankyou to our whole community for stepping up where you could, donating what you could and for helping and supporting our Chevallum P&C Association in any way that you could in 2021!
Our Achievements in 2021
In 2021, we were unable to present Strawbfest to the Sunshine Coast for a second year in a row. Our whole community came together in the absence of Strawbfest and donated gifts services, allowing us to raise almost $18,000! Our amazing Sunshine Coast strawberry farmers donated tonnes of strawberries to our school to make everything strawberry you can think of to sell to our community. Thanks to everyone who contributed in some way to ensure the continued success of Strawbfest.
In 2021, the Chevallum P&C was able to contribute a grand total of $130,773.58 to our school which funded many various projects around our school! Some of the projects and equipment included two new playground shade structures, a Centenary-inspired outdoor learning space, a covered linkway structure, air conditioning units, marquees,
cooking equipment in our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program and a new fridge in our Hall. The P&C also contributed funds to support and improve our programs in sports, music, youth support, LOTE, Stephanie Alexander Kitchen garden, Performing Arts and Visual Arts. The P&C also contributed funds to support our Playgroup program.
In 2022, we want to continue to work collaboratively with our community to achieve great success. Our Café C, which is run by the P&C,
continues to provide the students and staff of Chevallum State School with healthy, delicious meals all year round. Café C is also gearing up for some super yum red food days throughout the year to raise funds for the school. Food can be ordered to buy on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday through the Qkr! App. Children can also bring in coins to purchase iceblocks and homebake and practise their communication and build their confidence with money.
Our Uniform Shop is providing our community with a range of school uniform options at low prices. We continue to open in person every Tuesday morning from 8:15am-9:15am. We also offer online purchases through the Qkr! App. It’s an easy, no-stress way to purchase your uniforms.
Our P&C also run our WOOSH (Wonderful Outside of School Hours) service to children of our community who require supervision and support before and after school and also at school holiday times. WOOSH offer amazing programs and contract specialists to teach our children in areas such as soccer, art, music and dance. What’s even better is that these programs are included in the price of their care…. It’s win win for all!
The Chevallum P&C Association currently employ 16 staff members and are always on the look out for new enthusiastic people to join our team
