 STRAWBFEST 2018

Another successful Strawbfest for our community again this year. Please read more including thanks to sponsors and volunteers in Our Community section and also News section of this website.

Strawbfest will come alive this year at Chevallum State School from 5pm till late. With a vibrant multi-cultural world of food and a variety of entertainment, it's a night for the whole family celebrating all things strawberry!

Ranging from live music and entertainment across 3 stages, including Dear Willow, Ruby Gilbert, Dan Horne and Fat Picnic, you'll be dancing the night away.

Carnival amusement rides, the ever popular Strawberry Daiquiri bar, our famous pre-loved stall, an abundance of delicious strawberries, all the fun of glow paint disco, show bags and much, much more. The evening then culminates in an impressive burst of colour and light with our MixFM fireworks display at 9pm.

It is the main fundraising event of Chevallum School Community, staged annually by volunteers. It reflects not only Chevallum’s unique location within the strawberry fields, but also provides a platform for showcasing the creative and diverse talents of our whole community. This renowned community event helps provide a host of additional resources for the school, including air-conditioning, play equipment, technology, musical instruments and art equipment. All this gives children at Chevallum a wonderful start to becoming well-rounded, global citizens.

Every year our major sponsor, The Twist Brothers, generously open up their farm and allow the children of Chevallum State School to pick tonnes of strawberries. The school community then gathers together to turn all of this into a veritable buffet of strawberry delights including jam, syrup, salad, strawberry and marshmallow kebabs, strawberry sundaes, strawberry-topped pavlovas and even strawberry daiquiris. Along with generous support from MixFM, Sunshine Coast Council, Energex, CLIF bars, and other local businesses, we are sure this will be a night to remember!"
