P&C News

The P&C had a delightful time introducing ourselves to the new Prep families of 2020. We were invited to the three orientation sessions explaining all things P&C and Robyn from Woosh gave a very thorough overview of Woosh and the philosophy behind this space.

In my journey within the P&C I have come to realize how important the Association is for the school and we the current P&C have realized the need for us to better communicate who we are, what we are and what we do and how parents, family and friends can get involved to support the P&C which in turn supports the school, supports our children. Feedback from the sessions from new parents and to be honest returning families was positive and our information handout was received well. If you would like to grab a copy of the information handout giving a brief overview of the P&C they are available in the office next to the membership forms.

Katie Fisher has resigned from her position as Treasurer. Although her time with us was short she made some incredible inroads to the Business Operations Overview of Café C and the Uniform Shop. Her HR background was an incredible asset and steered us in the right direction for the future. We look forward to continuing with this review and we thank Katie for the time she gave.
Moving forward we are thrilled to announce and welcome Kirsten Bowman to the Executive Team as Treasurer. Kirsten comes to us with an incredible amount of good will and enthusiasm that is undeniably infectious. Anyone who knows her I know will be smiling as they read this, because they know exactly what I am talking about. Her love and passion for community, this community, is second to none and her desire to improve outcomes for our school is her asset. We look forward to working with her and if her success just recently leading the community in Strawbfest is anything to go by well, I say the future is bright.
Vice President
I would also like to acknowledge Bree Vitanza and her efforts as a Vice President. She also has decided to step down from her role. Thank you Bree for the time you gave to the P&C.

At our next P&C meeting (Wednesday 20th Nov at 9am) we will be locking in our fundraising events for 2020. If you would like to have a say in the events that we hold we invite you to ‘pitch’ your idea. We expect you to come prepared with the when, the how and the who. The who is really important, as we need to know that you and your team can pull it off? So get your thinking caps on… do you want Ladies Day back, another keynote, a trivia night, a movie night? We are open to ideas and are encouraging you to take the floor. The opportunity is now, and our fundraisers for 2020 will be finalized at the next meeting.
Preparations are already underway for Strawbfest 2020 the date is now confirmed. Please save the date Friday 11th September 2020.
We would love the community to start thinking of businesses that may like to take up sponsorship opportunities for 2020. Please email if you would like information regarding Strawbfest 2020 sponsorship.

Café C would like to welcome Maleny Dairies our new milk supplier. We look forward to this relationship and working with a local brand.
Queensland Association of School Tuckshops (QAST) took our Tuckshop on board for a financial turnaround program. We have been given our report and from this report we look forward to working on their recommendations.

Firstly we would like to commence official Café C sub-committee meetings to further support the Convener in brainstorming future plans for the space. Keep an eye out for these meeting dates as if you feel you would like you to be involved we would like to hear from you. Within these meetings we will be focusing on the following:
