Fundraiser for Aussie Farmers

Early Act (Primary School Rotary) are fundraising for our Aussie Farmers who are facing many challenges in light of the ongoing drought. Early Act members will be running a few events from now until the end of the year to raise well needed funds.

The next fundraising activity will be a Free Dress Day on  Thursday September 20th with a voluntary gold coin donation on the day.
The goal for the Early Act Club is to raise $1 000 for Drought Angels during the year.  So far $500 has been raised.

The first event on 28 August was a school performance by Bernard Mangakahia called Kia Toa – Be Courageous! Be Resilient! The performance was at no cost to the school and the performer, Mr Mangakahia has kindly allowed his performance to be part of our fundraising event.

Our students were enthralled through stories and song from his rich Polynesian heritage whist being encouraged to be courageous and overcome challenges and adversity.

Students were encouraged to bring a gold coin to support our Aussie farmers.

The charity our school will be supporting will be the Drought Angels. The Drought Angels are an amazing group of volunteers helping farmers by providing pre-paid visa cards, IGA store cards, petrol cards and gift cards and arranging feed delivery for the animals to farmers to not only support the farmers but also ensure the local farming communities don’t suffer in this drought and have the support to also keep operating.
